First photographic festival
Gdansk - Sopot - Gdynia (Poland)
15/08 > 17/09/2006
Transfotografia is a very young festival
of photography which is held for the first time, from August 15th
till September 17th, in the region of Three cities in Poland.
This first edition, although modest, announces the birth of a future
anual meeting of which the programming, mainly directed around the
contemporary creation, will carry a viewpoint privileged on the work
of the French and Polish photographers.
For its beginning, Transfotografia joins to the French collective
“Territories of fictions” by presenting the portrait of
France in mutation.
In parallel, Teraz Polska - Poland Now, proposes the contemporary,
varied and authentic vision, of Polish photographers on their country
and his inhabitants.
In this context, beyond the exhibitions, Transfotografia, vector of
exchanges and meetings, reminds the cultural links which always existed
between France and Poland.
Investing cafes, galleries, former industrial sites but also places,
gardens, or walks, the photographic Art, through the festival Transfotografia,
comes directly to the meeting of the spectator. Modern approach of
the photography and panorama of current Europe, Transfotografia opens
a new eye on the world.
