Borders and Transgression
A project of photographers’ commissions
On the occasion of the
50th anniversary of signing the Treaties of Rome, the basis of the
European Union, the Transphotography festival collaborating with the
French Institute in Warsaw, prepared an international exhibition on
various phenomena connected with the idea of borders and transgression
in Eastern and Central Europe.
A group of 5 photographers worked on the project:

to transvestites and transsexuals in Poland,
Julien Goldstein (F) portrayed a Romanian village from which almost
all adults leave in spring to pick strawberries in Spain,
Tomas Pospech (CZ) showed a peculiar world of international corporations
in Czech Republic and Slovakia,
François Daumerie (F) created a kind of diary of a trip along
